random..
for example.. in the midst of exams, you squeese whats left of your brain trying to put your finger on the right answer but you simply can't.. but when you're out enjoying your with your friends, the answer suddenly comes to you.. wasted isn't it..
OR how you strain to memorise information the night before the exam with no avail but when you go about doing everyday stuff, something will trigger your memory and you can remember it..
OR how you are so sick of mugging and mugging and tell yourself that you need a break from medicine but you include jargons in everyday routine..
OR how you really wanna loose weight, try all sorts of things, but only manage to loose weight when you get sick??
well, you get what i mean.. funny how life turns out when you're least expecting it..

I'm back!!
phew, it has been quite a while huh?? no wonder darling pei threatened to remove my name from her link.. tsk tsk.. well, this blog is dedicated to you CYP..
its been a crazy december for me.. this IMU is seriously trying to push us way beyond our limits.. after sum 2 straight away on the same day they crammed one PBL and our first CVS lecture.. but that was a long time ago.. now, CVS is over and done with at least for another 4-5 months or so before EOS.. :(
so i guess you guys already managed to work out my blogging pattern.. always after a test.. haha..
today was quite a stressful day.. cos first had to sit for CVS exam.. then feedback session plus taking results for sum 2.. but i guess all turned out ok.. the best part was, i had so much free time on my hands for once.. so i decided to go watch movie.. i know, it sounds lame but its just so so nice to get to watch a movie without the guilt that used to come with it..
for those who haven't watch the Guardian, its a really nice movie.. very kan cheong.. haha.. hmm.. wanna know the ending?? lol.. i won't be so mean as to spoil your fun k??
next week we'll be starting our first rotations.. should be loads of fun especially KKB.. starting with com med on monday and i really hope i'll still feel excited about rotations after that.. lol..
so for now, maybe i'll just find a book to bury my face in.. a STORY book mind you.. and maybe do some old-fashioned cross stitching.. and oh ya, accompany my dear cousins who came from Aus for the summer..
to all sem 3's who are probably burning the midnight oil now making love with their sky-high stack of notes, just wanted to wish you guys all the best for EOS and to stay calm.. Good Luck especially to Jem, Paul, Ben, Kevin, Sebby, Jamie X 2, Li Shun, Joanne, Hui Jiun, Tim, Deb, and to all the others..

love in the eyes of the pros..
"What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:
___________________________________________________________________
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca- age 8
___________________________________________________________________
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)
___________________________________________________________________
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,"
Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."
Noelle - age 7
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6
___________________________________________________________________
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
Cindy - age 8
___________________________________________________________________
"My mommy loves me more than anybody You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
Clare - age 6
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4
___________________________________________________________________
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4
___________________________________________________________________
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image)
Karen - age 7
___________________________________________________________________
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6
___________________________________________________________________
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8
___________________________________________________________________
And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"
___________________________________________________________________
ain't that touching?? which is your favourite one??
my personal favourite is the one by Billy 4 years old..
sometimes its surprising how deep children can think.. i think its because, their minds are not clouded by complicated stuff (like ECG).. so, thats why we must let our heart do the talking instead of our minds.. then it'll really mean alot..
___________________________________________________________________
on the other hand, i'm so NOT into my CVS timetable.. sigh.. classes from 4.15 to 6.30.. don't they know that that's xandra's sleeping hours?? aih.. plus put CSU and PBL's at 8am in the morning.. meaning 6 hours between lectures.. *sweat*
___________________________________________________________________
and you guys (IMU-ians) must must must come and support the christmas week k?? especially CSS booth.. haha.. we're having such cool stuff.. CSS is selling Des's mum's famous choc pudding and fried noodles, toasties, and Sister Teo's limited edition kuik batik.. so you guys dun wanna miss it do you?? plus there will be lots of other cool food not to mention dedications of christmas carols (choir club), sale of super duper cute soft toys (dance club).. and earrings by CF.. AND, christmas card and cake by the St jerome kids.. so please come and support because we've put so much effort into it.. and the best part is, all the profits will go to the St. Jerome orphanage..
___________________________________________________________________

directions in life..
God Will Make A Way
Artist - Don Moen
Album - God Will Make A Way. The Best Of Don Moen
Lyrics - God Will Make A Way
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way....
He will make a way
Oh God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way.....
He will make a way
By a roadway in the wilderness
He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
And He will do something new today
Oh God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way...
He will make a way
NARRATION
Oh God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way....
He will make a way
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way....
He will make a way
so to all those out there who feels that the world has turned on you.. that the one you trust may have hurt you in some way.. always remember that God is always there for you.. and all you need to do is ask.. and ask.. and someday your prayers may be answered.. maybe not exactly the way you want it to.. but in someways better because God always has better plans for us then ourselves.. Amen..
p/s Happy 21st birthday Jen..

Of thankfulness..
i guess it all began with my trip to Seremban Hospital..i must admit that i felt really out of place when i walked into ward 6A my first day there.. its rather terrifying an experience to see so many ladies packed into a tiny ward (52 patients in the female medical ward) and the condition was way below satisfactory.. patients had IV drips attached to their hands which were stained with blood, over full urinary catheter bags waiting for a nurse to notice and empty it.. all the patients looking so weak and sad that its heartbreaking..
during my 2-day visit, i talked to many patients, just being there as a listening ear.. most patients were very happy that somebody even took the time to talk to them that they spilled out most of their life story.. i took their vital signs and even got to record it down as IMU STUDENT.. haha..
i must say that the highlight of my visit was being given the opportunity to give an elderly patient a bed bath.. although at the beginning, i was ready to cry because i was scared and really don't know what to do.. plus, we have to change her pampers and the bed sheets with her lying there.. the patient was 86 years old!! and she was being fed through a tube attached to her nose..
and it was really nice how the patients responds when you just offer them a smile.. their previously sad and weak looking face would just lit up like some one turned on the light.. its just amazing what a smile could do for a person.. and its sad how people who are so busy with work are too caught up to just smile at others around them.. wouldn't that make the world a better place?? not to mention make someone's day??
after those 2 days, i feel that i must be the most luckiest girl on the face of the earth.. with loving parents and brothers, and friends who love me..
lucky that my loved ones are healthy.. the other day when i told mum and jen how shocked i was with the hospital condition, jen said that memang gov hospitals are like that and that i'm very blessed that i am not exposed to it earlier.. i guess he's right.. cos it means that i didn;t have reason to be going there!! hehe..
seeing elderly patients in the wards remind me of my grandmothers.. my mum's mother is currently staying at my house.. how thankful i am that they are healthy..
my maternal grandmother will be celebrating her 84th birthday in december and she's as strong as a horse except her leg problem.. arthritis..
i am thankful that she's able to walk around even though it means having to wait for her most of the time..
thankful that she does not have to be bed ridden.. even though her snores keep me up during the night.. hehe..
thankful that she does not need help with her meals even though she always put leftovers on my plate and asking me to finish it.. and later saying that i have put on weight.. aih..
thankful that she can still do her own laundry even though she makes us worry as she might slip on the soapy floors..
on the other hand.. my paternal grandmother isn't doing quite as well.. she suffered a stroke a few years back and now it seems her memory is quiting on her.. haven't had the chance to visit her in a while but i hope to do so before she forgets me.. i even bought her a bracelet.. IMU.. give me a holiday!!
well, i pray that God continues to shower His blessings on me and my loved ones..
and to all my friends out there.. please remember to smile at everybody even though they are rubbish collectors, cleaners etc.. SMILE A LOT. IT COSTS NOTHING AND IS BEYOND PRICE. quoted from Life's little instruction book.. and take time to tell your loved ones how much you love them all the time because it may be your last chance to do so..
I LOVE YOU dad, mum, xavier, xavian, grandma's, Jen, and all my friends..

Inspiration
but then, i watched the Oprah Winfrey show (oi.. dun laugh.. let me finish my story and see if you can still laugh..) which i discovered by accident thanks to my brother's habitual flipping of channels..
Anthony Sukto
what caught my attention was a composed little boy's voice talking to a 911 dispatcher saying "My daddy killed me with a butcher knife"..
AHA.. now i caught your attention too didn't i?? :P
this brave little boy is Anthony Sukto who was 8 when the incident took place.. his dad, after killing his mom stabbed him 6 times on the face, neck and stomach and left.. and Anthony said that an angel took him to the phone where he called 911.. he also said that an angel told him to play dead when his father attacked him..
his bravery and calmness touched the hearts of millions including those who faught to save his life..
read more at http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-10-29-child-911_x.htm
so the next time you're faced with something which doesn't go your way.. think about this innocent little boy before making a decision on what to do.. and always thank God for all the blessings He has showered upon you and how lucky you are that you have internet connection to read this.. hehe..
God bless!!
p/s i'll just share a couple of photos from my Singapore trip (couldn't resist :P)
picture of the fountain of wealth where you can dedicate messages.. one guy even proposed there.. wah.. so romantic *dreaming*

S.O.U.L.M.A.T.E.S.
what XANDRA says:
"A person who accepts and loves you for who you are and doesn't expect you to change or try to change you.
A person who is there for you all the time and with whom words are unnecessary to express your deepest feelings.
A person who smiles with you when you are happy and who cries with you when you're hurt.
A person who stands by you with a ready warm bear hug to lift your spirits.
A person who corrects you gently when you are wrong for your own good.
A person who does his/her best to put that lost smile back on your face even though it means embarassing him/herself with silly jokes."
well, a soulmate is someone who you can really be yourself with, laugh and share jokes, or cry..
soulmates are like rare jems which are hard to come by, hard to notice but once they are found, you will never let them go..
but sometimes, you soulmate may come and go without you realising it because you are too busy looking for them or because they may not seem "your type"..
B-B-Q.. yums :P

even our seniors from Seremban made an appearence!! yay..
photo time!! :D

food.. glorious food..

special thanks to our cook for your yummy food!!

besides all the food.. (yes we did do something aside eating.. eating.. and eating..) the old committee took the opportunity to hand over their posts to the new committee led by *insert drum roll* Jeremy Nunis!!

now, i got a story for you guys.. :D
A young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholaror any expert who could answer his 3 Questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a scholar.
Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?
Scholar: I am one of God willing, I will be able to answer your questions.
Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.
Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of God ....
Young Man: I have 3 questions:1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.2. What is fate?3. If Devil was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Devil and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?
Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.
Young Man(feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?
Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.
Young Man: I really don't understand.Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?
Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.
Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?
Young Man: Yes.
Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!
Young Man: I cannot.
Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape... Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?
Young Man: No.
Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?
Young Man: No.
Scholar: That is fate my second answer........ My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?
Young Man: It is created from flesh.
Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?
Young Man: Flesh.
Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?
Young Man: In pain.
Scholar: That's it... this is my third answer, Even though Devil and also the hell were created from the fire, if God wants,God willing , the hell will become a very painful place for devil.

time reall flies huh?? it was like just yesterday when i kneeled down and prayed to God for a pair of twin brothers.. and that they will be just like Chipmunk and Lowela (some cartoon.. where one is very naughty and the other is an angel)
and it was like just yesterday when my dream came true when you guys were born.. and every bit of my prayer were answered, down to the part where one is naughty while the other one is good..
and it was like just yesterday when we used slip on our swimsuits, wet the porch floor (with water of course..), put a generous helping of soap and start sliding down the driveway.. and crashing down to the gate below.. mum always say thats why the gate was so dented.. haha.. 3 big watermelons..

Job
1
In the land of Uz 1 there was a blameless and upright man named Job, who feared God and avoided evil.
2
Seven sons and three daughters were born to him;
3
and he had seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred she-asses, and a great number of work animals, so that he was greater than any of the men of the East.
4
His sons used to take turns giving feasts, sending invitations to their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
5
And when each feast had run its course, Job would send for them and sanctify them, rising early and offering holocausts for every one of them. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and blasphemed God in their hearts." This Job did habitually.
6
One day, when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, Satan also came among them.
7
And the LORD said to Satan, "Whence do you come?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "From roaming the earth and patrolling it."
8
And the LORD said to Satan, "Have you noticed my servant Job, and that there is no one on earth like him, blameless and upright, fearing God and avoiding evil?"
9
But Satan answered the LORD and said, "Is it for nothing that Job is God-fearing?
10
Have you not surrounded him and his family and all that he has with your protection? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock are spread over the land.
11
But now put forth your hand and touch anything that he has, and surely he will blaspheme you to your face."
12
And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand upon his person." So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
13
And so one day, while his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their eldest brother,
14
a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the asses grazing beside them,
15
and the Sabeans carried them off in a raid. They put the herdsmen to the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
16
While he was yet speaking, another came and said, "Lightning has fallen from heaven and struck the sheep and their shepherds and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
17
While he was yet speaking, another came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three columns, seized the camels, carried them off, and put those tending them to the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
18
While he was yet speaking, another came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their eldest brother,
19
when suddenly a great wind came across the desert and smote the four corners of the house. It fell upon the young people and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
20
Then Job began to tear his cloak and cut off his hair. He cast himself prostrate upon the ground,
21
and said, "Naked I came forth from my mother's womb, and naked shall I go back again. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD!"
22
In all this Job did not sin, nor did he say anything disrespectful of God.
in the end.. Job 42: 12-17
12
Thus the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his earlier ones. For he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.
13
And he had seven sons and three daughters,
14
5 of whom he called the first Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.
15
6 In all the land no other women were as beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brethren.
16
7 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; and he saw his children, his grandchildren, and even his great-grandchildren.
17
Then Job died, old and full of years.

especially for us ladies..
"I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."
Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"
"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"
God said:
"When I made the woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."
"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."
so, to all my dear friends, please give your mothers a hug and kiss saying how much you love her today!!
I LOVE YOU MOMMY!! MUAX!!
