Inspiration

initially i wanted to write about the steamboat outing with the Naboob-ians + Jen.. and also about my recent trip to Singapore with dad and Xavier..

but then, i watched the Oprah Winfrey show (oi.. dun laugh.. let me finish my story and see if you can still laugh..) which i discovered by accident thanks to my brother's habitual flipping of channels..

Anthony Sukto

what caught my attention was a composed little boy's voice talking to a 911 dispatcher saying "My daddy killed me with a butcher knife"..

AHA.. now i caught your attention too didn't i?? :P

this brave little boy is Anthony Sukto who was 8 when the incident took place.. his dad, after killing his mom stabbed him 6 times on the face, neck and stomach and left.. and Anthony said that an angel took him to the phone where he called 911.. he also said that an angel told him to play dead when his father attacked him..

his bravery and calmness touched the hearts of millions including those who faught to save his life..

read more at http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-10-29-child-911_x.htm

so the next time you're faced with something which doesn't go your way.. think about this innocent little boy before making a decision on what to do.. and always thank God for all the blessings He has showered upon you and how lucky you are that you have internet connection to read this.. hehe..

God bless!!

p/s i'll just share a couple of photos from my Singapore trip (couldn't resist :P)

S.O.U.L.M.A.T.E.S.

"A person you share a special friendship with because you understand his/her feelings and interests" Oxford.

what XANDRA says:

"A person who accepts and loves you for who you are and doesn't expect you to change or try to change you.

A person who is there for you all the time and with whom words are unnecessary to express your deepest feelings.

A person who smiles with you when you are happy and who cries with you when you're hurt.

A person who stands by you with a ready warm bear hug to lift your spirits.

A person who corrects you gently when you are wrong for your own good.

A person who does his/her best to put that lost smile back on your face even though it means embarassing him/herself with silly jokes."

well, a soulmate is someone who you can really be yourself with, laugh and share jokes, or cry..

soulmates are like rare jems which are hard to come by, hard to notice but once they are found, you will never let them go..

but sometimes, you soulmate may come and go without you realising it because you are too busy looking for them or because they may not seem "your type"..

B-B-Q.. yums :P

Tang and hubby.. :D thank you so much for coming!!

now, i got a story for you guys.. :D

A young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholaror any expert who could answer his 3 Questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a scholar.

Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?

Scholar: I am one of God willing, I will be able to answer your questions.

Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.

Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of God ....

Young Man: I have 3 questions:1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.2. What is fate?3. If Devil was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Devil and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?

Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.

Young Man(feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?

Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.

Young Man: I really don't understand.Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.

Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?

Young Man: Yes.

Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!

Young Man: I cannot.

Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape... Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?

Young Man: No.

Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?

Young Man: No.

Scholar: That is fate my second answer........ My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?

Young Man: It is created from flesh.

Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?

Young Man: Flesh.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: In pain.

Scholar: That's it... this is my third answer, Even though Devil and also the hell were created from the fire, if God wants,God willing , the hell will become a very painful place for devil.

time reall flies huh?? it was like just yesterday when i kneeled down and prayed to God for a pair of twin brothers.. and that they will be just like Chipmunk and Lowela (some cartoon.. where one is very naughty and the other is an angel)

and it was like just yesterday when my dream came true when you guys were born.. and every bit of my prayer were answered, down to the part where one is naughty while the other one is good..

and it was like just yesterday when we used slip on our swimsuits, wet the porch floor (with water of course..), put a generous helping of soap and start sliding down the driveway.. and crashing down to the gate below.. mum always say thats why the gate was so dented.. haha.. 3 big watermelons..

and it was like just yesterday when we used to celebrate the tanglung festival.. not with tanglungs but with candles.. lighting small colourful candles all around the porch.. poor mum had a nice time scraping it off the next day though.. hehe..

oh well.. the good old memories..

oh and you know what, i tied their ties for them for the ceremony.. *beams*

so to my dear brothers, do pray that you will continue to grow in faith to know and love God.. and that you will be His servant in spreading His everlasting love for humankind..

Job

story of a man named Job.. Job 1
1
In the land of Uz 1 there was a blameless and upright man named Job, who feared God and avoided evil.
2
Seven sons and three daughters were born to him;
3
and he had seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred she-asses, and a great number of work animals, so that he was greater than any of the men of the East.
4
His sons used to take turns giving feasts, sending invitations to their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
5
And when each feast had run its course, Job would send for them and sanctify them, rising early and offering holocausts for every one of them. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and blasphemed God in their hearts." This Job did habitually.
6
One day, when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, Satan also came among them.
7
And the LORD said to Satan, "Whence do you come?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "From roaming the earth and patrolling it."
8
And the LORD said to Satan, "Have you noticed my servant Job, and that there is no one on earth like him, blameless and upright, fearing God and avoiding evil?"
9
But Satan answered the LORD and said, "Is it for nothing that Job is God-fearing?
10
Have you not surrounded him and his family and all that he has with your protection? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock are spread over the land.
11
But now put forth your hand and touch anything that he has, and surely he will blaspheme you to your face."
12
And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand upon his person." So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
13
And so one day, while his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their eldest brother,
14
a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the asses grazing beside them,
15
and the Sabeans carried them off in a raid. They put the herdsmen to the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
16
While he was yet speaking, another came and said, "Lightning has fallen from heaven and struck the sheep and their shepherds and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
17
While he was yet speaking, another came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three columns, seized the camels, carried them off, and put those tending them to the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
18
While he was yet speaking, another came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their eldest brother,
19
when suddenly a great wind came across the desert and smote the four corners of the house. It fell upon the young people and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
20
Then Job began to tear his cloak and cut off his hair. He cast himself prostrate upon the ground,
21
and said, "Naked I came forth from my mother's womb, and naked shall I go back again. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD!"
22
In all this Job did not sin, nor did he say anything disrespectful of God.

in the end.. Job 42: 12-17
12
Thus the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his earlier ones. For he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.
13
And he had seven sons and three daughters,
14
5 of whom he called the first Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.
15
6 In all the land no other women were as beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brethren.
16
7 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; and he saw his children, his grandchildren, and even his great-grandchildren.
17
Then Job died, old and full of years.
