looking back

don't worry.. not going to get all nostalgic again hehe.. just putting up some photos i took during study break and some recent ones..

MV Doulos
in case you're wondering what it is.. its a floating bookstore which is almost as old as titanic.. WOW!! it travels around the world and from what i've heard it is planning to come back to port klang.. sob sob.. oh ya.. and guess who i met there.. hehe..
the rounded steps.. even scarier on the way down.. partly thanks to adrian who
was having fun bouncing on the steps.. haha.. some of the stuff i got.. note that the prices are in units (100units=RM8) cool eh??
genting trip..
went up to genting with Jen.. (no pei, its not what you think it is..) when we first got out of the bus it was pretty warm and we were kinda disappointed.. but thankfully it got colder in the afternoon as it started drizzling.. and mr macho man had no choice but to use his sweater.. haha.. (male ego :P) erm.. nothing much to say cos Jen has already covered most of it in his blog (even down to what i ate.. *blush*)..
result day!!
oddly enough, my gang decided to watch pirates of the carribean before even getting the results.. pre-results celebration.. haha.. well, thankfully the whole gang managed to pass so everybody is happy.. :D
p/s you guys should have seen Geoff's expression when we told him that we're actually getting our grades.. (poor guy thought it was merely pass or fail).. he turned so red and practically started hyperventilating.. haha.. really Geoff, for you there's nothing to worry about lar.. :D

truly malaysian
erm.. this "carnival" was held by IMU during my study break.. it has lots of malaysian food ranging from nasi lemak to bak chang.. there were some cultural dance as well but we the persatuan perabot perabot perpustakaan didn't really get to watch it.. nothing much really as we're mostly stressed out by the upcoming EOS.. so photos!!

taken from the 3rd floor..

we love you yuen teng!!

friends forever *wink*

doctors vs. mechanics

A mechanic was removing the cylinder heads from the motor of a car when he spotted the famous heart surgeon in his shop, who was standing off to the side, waiting for the service manager to come to take a look at his car. The mechanic shouted across the garage,"Hello Doctor! Please come over here for a minute." The famous surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked argumentatively, "So doctor, look at this. I also open hearts, take valves out, grind 'em, put in new parts, and when I finish this will work as a new one. So how come you get the big money, when you and me is doing basically the same work? " The doctor leaned over and whispered to the mechanic ..... What did Doctor say ??? Guess ......

Doctor said : "Try to do it when the engine is running".

brilliant eh??

well, here goes (me first attempt at tags)

10 years ago i was:
hmm.. in std 3 in SRK Sri Subang Jaya.. still naive (and dumb i may add).. playing masak masak every free period with my friends.. using empty groundnut skins as bowles.. toothpicks as chopsticks.. making paper boats when it rains and have paperboat race in the drain (my school used to flood alot).. creating wierd concoctions (cheif chef: fiona low) where we will mix toothpaste, listerine and all kinds of stuff and then try to convince people to eat it (dun think anybody did though.. phew).. also the year when PTS was introduced.. as it was my first MAJOR exam, i was really panicked and i distinctly remembering running to the toilet to answer nature's call just before the exam started.. hehe.. oh ya.. it was around the time XFCJ was formed (whats that u say?? <--- adapted from Naboob's winning cheer!!) well, its a club formed by me and my closest buddies (Xandra, Fiona, Crystal and Ju Enn) it was only much later when we had to rename the club (XFCJ'SS) to include 2 new members (Sharon and Sing Ee)

5 years ago i was:
erm, in form 2 SMK USJ 4.. i remember the day i was chosen to be a prefect.. and the hideous uniform we were forced to parade in.. sigh.. imagine, yellow shirt and grey bottom?? who in the right mind will make such a clashing combination?? well the answer is (drum rolls) Pn. Bumble Bee aka Pn. Roebiah Iskandar.. only when Mr. Siva took over we had a decent uniform (sky blue top with white bottom-i admit it wasn't perfect especially during the girls "highlight of the month" but is was much better).. oh did i mention our terrible tie?? it was dark green with our school badge forming polka-dot like design.. ARGH!! i also remember that it wasn't a very good year cos my bestest friend left for Canada and i only found out much later.. sob sob..

1 year ago i was:
in SAM taylors college.. met many new friends.. and many dedicated teachers.. i remember that Puvan once said that mr chong looked like Jay Chow in the headphone.. haha.. you should have seen him blush.. and the time Mrs. boon mistaken the curly wire of a handphone charger to be a bicycle lock.. OMG!! not to mention the numerous times Ms. angelene got pissed off at our class (its for our own good i know..) and the times we would rush off to pyramid during breaks and then rush back just in time for the next lecture.. i also remember the IMU interview and how nervous i was.. ( oh ya, my interviewer is Prof Mak and Dr. P Kumar) and when the results came i was in Penang so my pet bro had to go to my house and read the result to me.. hehe thanks alot dear.. love you for it..

yesterday i was:
i'm on holiday till september!! woohoo.. well, yesterday i went to do my elective (YOGA) at fitness first.. and i can honestly say that never in my 19 years of life excercise more put together than yesterday alone.. in yoga, Dr. Dhilip made us do excercise to strenghten our leg muscles.. and then me and irene went body combat straight after my yoga class.. so tiring.. someone be kind enough to give me a massage?? :P

5 most recent songs i listened to:
1. mary had a little lamb
2. baa ba black sheep
3. twinkle twinkle little star
4. ABC
5. i'm a little tea pot
well, i dun really listen to music.. and even if i do, i can't remember the artist and title..

5 songs i know all the words to:
1-5 church songs

5 ideal places for running away to:
1. my bedroom
2. church
3. fitness first??
4. into the arms of a loved one
5. korea!!

5 things i really want:
1. to be a great doctor..
2. answers to questions
3. be a better Catholic
4. higher tolerance levels
5. *censored*

5 things i should be doing right now:
1. catching up on sleep
2. organising my phone book (its in a mess.. any volunteers??)
3. polishing up golf swing (need lot of work here)
4. teaching brothers add math
5. volunteer services to adrian

5 biggest joys in my life:
1. God
2. parents
3. twin brothers (i prayed for them :P)
4. Happy (my dog)
5. friends

i miss you!!

i really miss all my childhood friends.. (sorry to disappoint anybody :P)

was talking to my best friend.. Sharon.. miss you so much girl.. faster come back from Canada lar!! well, we had a nice time chatting about the good old days..

miss all those good times we had together.. all those pranks we played on others.. i know its mean but whats life without some fun?? i still remember the time when we had a new Seni teacher.. we hated her so much cos her perfume was sooooo strong.. even when she walks pass you, you can get choked on her perfume.. so one day, this friend of mine brought a plastic frog ( i have to admit it was really realistic looking) and i put it on the teachers chair.. when she saw it, she screamed.. OMG.. that look was priceless.. haha.. and the other time when we played a prank on a classmate.. the poor guy hated apple juice smell.. and we just had to put bottles of empty juice bottle into his bag.. haha..

miss those crazy lame games we used to play.. we used to make this film strip (strips of paper stuffed into used film rolls..) then we'd take turns drawing out characters which looks like hands.. (don't ask why).. anyway, all of us were too lazy to bring it back home.. so we'd stuff it in our teachers potted plant everyday at the end of school.. and one day (drum rolls), the teacher decided that it was time to change her plant.. imagine the heartbreak.. haha..

miss playing in the rain.. in our old school it always floods when it rains.. so we'd make paper boats and see who's will go the furthest before capsizing.. and to keep our shoes dry, we'll take them off and run around.. i know i know its dangerous and dirty.. but when you're young, you tend to do stupid things..

miss sliding down the driveway with my brothers in our swimsuits.. we'd put soap on the tiled floor and rub it with our lil bodies just to make sure it was even.. then we would slide down and usually crash into the gate below..

miss the days when exams are so much easier than now.. last time it was like study the night before exams and the results are so much better than now.. in IMU even camping in the library isn't enough to make the deans list (for me lar..)

miss those days when we're so naive.. the days when talking to guys are like terrible sins.. hehe.. when girls hung out with girls only and vice versa..

miss taking breakfast in the car and being driven around.. now, its like breakfast in the Audi.. (not the car.. ) driving to uni myself, being bullied on the road.. going through the same jam day in day out.. speaking of which.. anybody wanna be my driver?? :P

miss those days when all my cousins used to gather at ah ma's house.. and play our family game called "hantu kala".. now its like all gone off to uni, some working.. (hey cuzzies.. must play one last game before we get too old and wrinkley).. miss going around looking for chicken eggs.. watching cousins climb trees.. remember the swims old Dals went in our private pond.. haha.. (our lil secret eh *winks*)..

in short, miss the good old days when things are less complicated.. miss you all.. i guess when we get older we get more sentimental..

my birthday.. part 2

first of all, thanks to everyone who wished me.. and those who were there to celebrate it for me.. here are some pics..

______________________________________________________________________
with my family..

we went to Yuen steamboat.. hehe.. lots of recommendation from friends so we decided to try it out.. we tried to be smart by leaving the house early to avoid the crowd.. but guess what?? it was already crowded by 7.. imagine, 2 floors about 50 tables.. still got people waiting outside..

this pic was taken secretly.. hehe.. cos scared kena marah by some grumpy customers.. :P

after we got a table, we went to check out the food.. and ate dessert before the meal.. haha.. there's a wide selection of practically everything you can dump in to the soup.. then my bro went to get some fried chicken.. this place is famous for their fried chicken.. so naturally, there was a long que.. adrian told me that the customers will rush for the chicken.. and i thought.. how bad can it be?? well, it was bad.. people were so barbaric.. they rush and they push.. some even went to the extend of scooping a pile of chicken with their plate and not use the thongs provided.. imagine that.. and when my mum went to take someone even took a couple of pieces of her plate.. terrible Malaysian attitute.. haha.. mum was shaking.. :P

other than the chicken ordeal, the dinner was real nice.. lots of seafood and ice cream.. hehe.. to all who are planning to go.. please go after 9.. the crowd is more under control.. hehe..

_____________________________________________________________________

with AOY-ians..

we went to nandos.. yummy..

oh no.. now everybody knows my age.. :P haha..

after dinner, irene discovered that one of her tires had a flat.. so being girls, me, irene and ivy didn't have a clue what to do.. thank God for adrian who gave us a lesson on how to pump air.. haha..

_____________________________________________________________________

with IMU gang..

we went to mid valley to watch pirates 2.. it was a great show but terrible ending.. they left the show half hanging and we were protesting!! haha.. then went to have lunch.. after much consideration, we went to Nando..

oh dear.. another one of angelene's victim.. Geoff.. and check out pei's new haircut..

needless to say, food and company was great!!.. li shan suddenly drags denise out saying she wanted to check something out.. then the lights went on and off like in a horror movie.. OOOooooOOO!! hehe.. and angelene began eating so slow until hwei wan started to time her.. imagine!!.. then the lights went off.. and denise and li shan started singing a happy birthday song.. and the whole shop joined in.. it was a good thing the lights were off though.. i'm sure i was blushing.. hehe..

leaving in style.. from top: Geoffrey, hwei wan, pei..

then we went to IMU to collect out results.. anyways, thats a whole different story.. thanks again guys.. see ya!!

_____________________________________________________________________

with G4 gang.. together with reunion..

me and krish..

Denise's birthday!!

i know i know.. it was ages ago.. sorry girl..

we celebrated it during study break.. just before an MMS sesion.. here are some pics..

first lighting.. hehe..

Geoff lighting it the second time..

as it was a surprise, we had no idea when denise was going to show up.. lol.. so we lighted it prematurely.. then we waited.. and the candles kept on melting so we panicked and blew it off before it got too short.. but just after the last candle went off, angelene called to say denise is already on the way.. crap.. so we faster light it again.. haha..

it says "we love you Denise!!"

questions without answers YET..

hmm.. as most of you know, i now have too much spare time on my hands (not that i'm complaining) but this also means that my brains now have more time to think of crap.. and this is what i've been wondering about.. guys mind.. er since jem and aaron are more than willing to give a lecture on how to treat girls, i'm sure they woundn't mind answering some of these queries.. hehe..

1. why does guys (usually) treat their ex like crap?? even if they are the one who called it off??

2. what does guys think of girls who expresses their feelings first??

3. why do (most) guys like skimpy looking girls compared to decent ones??

4. are guys concerned about their weight??

5. why do (most) guys act differently with their girlfriends than when they are out with guy friends??

6. why are (some) guys jealous when their girl talks to other guys but can't understand why their girlfriend is mad at them for talking to other girls?? i mean, what goes around comes around.. :P

these questions are just my thoughts.. it is not meant to kena-kan anybody.. but if you feel insulted, check yourself in the mirror because siapa makan cili dia rasa pedas.. no offence ya.. just would like to know more about the opposite sex and their increasingly complex mind..

changing roles..

the other day i went to help adrian do some shopping for stuff to donate to the orang asli kids.. so we went to IKEA where we can get all the stuff under one roof.. toys from ikea, books and stationery from popular and titbits from tesco.. all these are additional stuff because of some gracious parents who donated a whooping $600.. i know its not much but it does help.. so we spent $120 on toys, $280+$300 on stationery.. sadly there's none left for titbits.. but, adrian managed to grab a bag of Daims for them..

then on the way home, adrian phone rang.. it was some guy campaining for adrian to join fitness first.. adrian politely said he was just a youth minister and he doesn't have to funds to spare eventhough he really needs it.. (he said it.. i'm not making it up).. so anyways, he guy keeps on trying to persuade adrian to join.. and then, adrian found out that the guys was a roman catholic too.. (aha.. this is where the fun starts and the tables are turned)..

adrian: oh, so which church did you go to??
the guy: er, st. ignatious..
adrian: so do you go to church often??
the guy: *sweat* er.. only when i have the time..
adrian: how can like that wan?? then what happen when you die God don't have time for you??
haha.. after adrian hung up, he laughed and said "instead of him evangelising me to fitness first i evangelised him.. "

well, thats the good old adrian.. i on the other hand was having a good laugh and was already planning to put in on my bloggie.. haha..

P.H.E.W

a huge sigh of relief.. my name is not on the VIVA list.. hurray!! meaning i don't have to face some mean looking lecturers shooting questions at me while i'm freaking out..

well, one hurdle over, but now the big question still remains..

Pass or Fail??

this IMU really too much lar.. they already know our results since they call people for borderline viva.. but they had to make us wait and wait and wait for our actual results till thurs.. don't they know what stress and anxiety can do to our poor souls.. i mean they are the ones who filled our puny little heads with all the Cushings disease crap.. sigh.. well, its not like i've got a choice.. just enjoy my holiday.. hehe..

G4 reunion!!

told you i'll be back soon.. hehe..

hey all G4 people.. its been half a year since we closed our SAM books and went our seperate ways.. but now, since Krish (our dear class rep) is back from Australia, and Puvan is leaving for Manipal soon, AND, me and Andrew just finish our EOS, it makes a great time for our first reunion..

details:
date: 7th july 2006
time: at night (not sure exactly.. should be 7-ish)
place: Andrew's house

so hope you guys can make it.. it will be great to catch up with you all.. see ya!!
____________________________________________________________________

photos of the reunion cum BBQ.. (coming soon!!)
like wai yi said, the food was great.. thanks to the cooks.. oh ya, we even made our own G4 garlic bread.. (Kris wanted to save money so we didn't buy the ready made ones) at first it was too hot because we put in too much garlic.. with a few adjustments to our "recipe" it was delicious.. "can tanding pizza hut wan d" says Maine.. hehe..

my hands, krish, maine with her master piece, and wee kee the plate holder cum QC..

then there was the other food.. a little birdie told me that andrew and mae did the marinating.. it was dee-licious..

andrew and mae..

wee kee did the super-salty salmon..

wee kee and maine

and puvan did the satay.. i think.. sorry i was being truly malaysian by coming late.. sob..

puvan and sher rene

and to top it all, they bought krish and i our birthday cake.. it was so sweet of them.. there are 17 small candles plus one big one.. no i'm not that old yet.. can't you tell?? well, mae said that 8 of the small ones are krish's and 9 are mine.. yes yes i am older than him.. :P..

me and krish.. happy belated birthday dear..

oh not forgetting dear old Kim.. poor thing it is more afrait of you lar wee kee than you are of her.. lol.. first dog i see eating bulbs of garlic and actually enjoying it.. hehe.. me own dog is contented with ice cream.. haha..

anyways, it was nice seeing you guys after such a long time.. looking forward to our next reunion in krish's place.. :P

gonna miss you guys.. keep in touch ya..

i'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!

with a brand new blog skin too.. isn't it so cute!! i love it so much.. thank you bro.. he got the idea from a wrapping paper he saw at school and i guess it reminded him of me.. aww.. and to think he did it all in less that a day..

anyway, as you guys may have already noticed my pattern, my blog is only dynamic after exams or when i'm super free.. yup, you've guessed it.. i just finish my EOS.. phew.. one semester down.. NINE more to go.. sigh..

but somehow, i don't feel relieved.. well, at least until i get the results and the confirmation that i do not have to RESIT or VIVA.. the SAQ was a real killer.. put all the previous tests i've done to shame man.. haha..

but OPSE was fun.. we get to meddle with the models.. was kinda tempted to meddle with the labels.. hehe.. but since i'm such a kind person i didn't.. :P i have one complain about the OPSE system though..
1. the buzzer was scary.. i mean imagine you concentrating very hard, squeezing your cereberum for an answer, the buzzer beeps so loud and sadly to say its a very wierd sound.. you literally jump out of your chair and rotate to the next cubical.. haha..
2. i was reading the question when all of a sudden a pair of legs popped out from under the table!! argh.. cos there was a perosn sitting opposite me and the table was kinda short..

but, all that was history.. now to plan how to enjoy holidays.. muahaha... that i am good at..

oh ya, DENISE has updated her blog.. alert the press!! hehe.. good job girl.. but she only did it to complain having to wait for me for 2 hours to finish my OPSE because my name starts with X.. hehe.. i'm so "touched"..

after the i finished my OPSE, we went curve.. have been wanting to go there for ages.. so when Geoff said we're going curve i said "YAY!!".. hehe hope didn't rupture your tympanic membrane (aka ear drums).. hehe.. had a nice lunch at Italianis.. huge portions..

love the ambience, just like a good old traditional family dinner..

spaghetti and meatballs.. yum.. but someone had to point out that the meatballs are like testes, the topping is the epididymis, and the spaghetti is the pampiniform plexus.. LOL..

roasted chicken italianis.. with loads of potatoes.. Denise drools.. :P hehe..

huge peperoni pizza.. yummy..

er.. i think this is the classic pizza..

we're loving it.. sorry mc D.. hehe..

a toast to our dear friend yuen teng who is going to UKM.. sob sob..

isn't the background so overseas-like..

then we went walking around.. kinda like lost sheep because for the first time in months (ok ok.. maybe i'm exagerating a little :P) we actually have tonnes of time on our hands.. usually it is just like goble goble up lunch and then go library to warm up the chair.. sad huh.. well, what do you expect..

but sadly, we had to say goodbye to yuen.. (yuen, if you're reading this do remember to keep in touch and keep your IMU student ID so you can visit us anytime you're free.. and don't forget you promised to sneak us in to your campus and introduce us to your cadaver.. hehee.. :P love ya girl..)

then we went to IKEA cos Ange wanted to get something.. and we became their spokesperson.. haha.. don;t you just love their designs?? it made us take a peep into the future and dream of having a beautifully decorated house.. but reality hit that we're a long way from all that.. sigh.. hehe..
to all those who are planning to read medicine, be warned:
be prepared to spend alot alot alot of time studying because no matter how much you study, you can never seem to remember all the stuff.. but at the same time, it is interesting as you learn more about your body.. and its all you ever think abour where ever you go.. in a good way of course..

for instance, just now we went to IKEA and we saw a rug with little bristle like thingies.. and we went like.. "HEY, microvilli!!".. get what i mean?? haha..

well, i guess thats all for now.. will be back soon!! ciaoz!!
