yesterday..

M1/06 first official outing to Pyramid Ice.. first planning to skate for a long time because it was unlimited time but........ after awhile all of our leggies were painful so we decided to stop.. sad..



then, me, yuen teng and hwei wan went to LJS for lunch.. yummy..

after lunch we went shopping (naturally.. hehe) and bought some earrings.. so cute..

also, me and yuen saw this gorgeous new singlet in Body glove.. so we both got the exact same colour and design.. well, i wanted to get while but it was so transparent.. yuen teng demonstrated that with her pyramid ice wrist band.. she concluded it was transparent because she can read the word "NORMAL" printed on it through the fabric.. haha.. and, hwei wan said we're gonna look like twins.. :S

anyways, guess thats all for now.. oh ya, pei, ur leggie so scarily white i had to add this post without pics.. just so that i don't see your leg everytime i open my page.. haha.. just kidding.. you must admit that we did a awesome job with those colours.. haha..

hey guys.. now that summative 1 is over, lots more time in hand to crap.. haha.. well.. these are some of the stuff i've been up to.. :P

and eating of course.. there's this new mentos.. so sour!! when i was eating i was like what the?? con job betul.. because the outer coat is not sour at all.. but when i got to the chewy part, WOW!! sour to the max.. all the sours fans should try this.. available in 3 flavours: green apple, pineapple and grape.. (lol.. advertising for mentos)

Exam blues..

hey all.. exams are so close.. so just taking some time off to say a few words..

firstly, (QnA)
1. what is IV septum?
a) 4 septum
b) interventricular septum

2. which is correct?
a) simple stratified squamous epithelium
b) stratified squamous epithelium

well, we had a good laugh when one of our study mates thought that IV septum actually means 4th septum because of roman numerics.. haha..

anothers highlight of the day is when someone said that the oropharynx and the laryngopharynx is lined by simple stratified squamous epithelium.. all medical students will (SHOULD) know that simple and stratified are totally opposite.. haha.. simple means only one layer of epithelial while stratified means several layers.. haha..

bottom line is.. what exam stress can do to your brains.. haha..

LIFE 101

Mayonnaise Jar and 2 cups of coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the 2 cups of coffee..

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly, and the pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full, they agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes." The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things: your God, your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favourite passions-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter--like your job, your house, and your car.

The sand is everything else: the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal." Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised his hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

the evils of cigarettes!!!!!!!!

hey again.. didn't expect to be seing this page again so soon.. well something got my attention and i wanted to share this piece of horriying information with you guys..

this week for PBL, i was required to research on cigarettes content and how to quit smoking.. well in turned out to be a real eye opener for me.. and i'm sure that if u hear (or rather "read") me out.. you will see why..

after browsing a few websites, i finally found the page stating all the general cigarette contents.. this website says that cigarettes contain many toxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic (causes cancer!!) chemicals and that they vary amongst brands.. here are some examples:

1. acetone-toxic solvent
2. acetaldehyde, ammonia-boost absorption of nicotine, increase addiciton
3. cadmium, neurosamines-known human carcinogen
4. formaldehyde-human carcinogen, also widely used as an EMBALMING liquid (to preserve a corspe)
5. cocoa-sweetener to make cigarettes more palatable to children (sick isn't it), act as bronchodialator allowing smokers to inhale smoke more deeply into lungs.
6. menthol-numb the throat so that the users do not feel the smoke's irritating effect.

so to all the guys and girls out there.. please please do not smoke.. if you have not start please don't love yourself and others around you.. if you already have, you can still make a difference by quiting. here are some tips..

1. get ready by setting a date, change your environment (get rid of all cigarettes, ash tray)
2. get support and encouragement from loved ones
3. medication (used with advise from your doctor)
4. be prepared for a relapse.

so now i'm sure that most of you can understand why i'm so eager to share this information. and a final word to all cigarette sellers, please open your eyes.. there are more ways to get rich than putting others at stake!!

Basophil alert!!

hey there.. most of you may be wondering what a basophil is.. well.. it is a very very rare white blood cell.. well.. during lab today, while messing around with the microscope, i found a basophil in my own blood.. and the whole class took turns to see it.. anyway, thats the good part.. the bad part is that the basophils are so rare that you only actually see them when the person has an allergic reaction.. scary.. my good friend YP even said that i'm heavily infected.. lol.. so its either i'm very lucky to have spotted one or that i may be a little allergic to some unknown substance.. whatever it is, i feel fine.. hehe.. here is a picture of a basophil i grabbed of the net.. mine actually looks almost similar.. :D

oh ya.. to my dear friend.. you know who you are.. tortora's are for reference, not as pillows.. haha.. no offence ya..

no dress code day!?!?!?!?!

well.. unfortunately it only lasts for today 6th april and poorer by RM 3.. (haha.. its for charity)
anyway, this is how it works.. everybody is allowed to wear anything they want to.. for a price of RM 3.. whoever wears extra sexy, will have to pay Rm 10.. haha.. good business huh?? well.. from what i saw.. i can safely say that it was a big hit.. gives a more university feeling to IMU.. haha.. a proffesor asked us why we didn;t like out usual dress code.. haha.. like DUHH!! its obviously more comfy in jeans and sneakers than in pressed shirts and slacks.. haha..

first of all.. happy belated birthday Tucky..
we all decided to celebrate for him at Mc Donalds.. so after class 10 of us went.. after the last time we went Mc Donalds i were surprised that they haven't barred us from the place.. haha.. (erm.. thats another story all together.. so nvm)

anyway.. being naughty as we always are, me and pei sneaked away to go get a cake.. yum.. first we wanted to get a vanilla ice cream cake (drool.. :P) but decided against it as we know Tucky's attachment to chocolate.. so.. we got him an american chocolate cake and we even wrote "mamipoko" on it.. don't ask me why.. but the fella always says that word (or phrase..) when he plays foosball.. hahaha..

hmm.. here's the cake.. it was real good.. in fact.. the birthday boy couldn't wait so he cut his own cake.. :P just kidding..

oh ya.. since angelene brought a camera.. we decided to test our "posing" skills.. haha.. i think everyone else in Mc Donalds think we're nuts (lucky i took of my ID).. haha.. so these are some of the photo's we took..

well.. guess its time to leave.. (much to the relieve of the Mc D workers i guess).. but.. its not the end.. being Naboo-ians.. we obviously have to live up to our standards..

hey there.. after much consideration i have decided to give blogging a shot.. hehe.. guess you all might be wondering where did i get the crazy idea of naming my blog.. haha.. guess my stomach did the talking!! :P Anyway.. takoyaki is this really nice savoury little balls served with mayonaise.. can be found in asia cafe.. haha.. oops.. i better stop talking because its making me hungry already.. haha.. such a piggy.. looks like thats all for now.. will write more when i have time :D
